So this is not totally free, but it’s cheap and fun …
The Global Health Alliance presents their End of Year Happy Hour. Join them in the Negril Village Rhum Lounge (downstairs, 70 W. 3rd St) on Friday, May 8th from 5-7pm for $4 beers, $3 pina coladas, and other happy hour specials. The dress is “casual upscale.”
Recent Steinhardt studio art grad Anaelle Attias is curating a new group show for twenty-one emerging artists called Splinters and Logs. She will be hosting her opening reception tomorrow, April 23 from 6 to 10pm in Brooklyn (1027 Grand Street, 4th fl, Brooklyn, which is 3 blocks from Grand Street stop on L train).

So this Thurs, April 23rd from 10pm – 1am, the Microfinance club will hosting ONE PARTY ONE PERSON. You can attend for no cover charge but the open bar (beer and mixed drinks) is $20.
It’s a fundraising party where all the proceeds go directly to one person from the Global South who is in need of financial capital to lift him or herself out of poverty
So even if you don’t want to pay/drink, come hang out, dance, and get involved in reducing poverty.

So the event is not completely free, but it’s donation based and for a good cause.
Come to the Underground (2nd Avenue between 33rd and 34th Street) on Friday, April 24 from 6 – 8 pm to celebrate Malaria Day and raise awareness, the Department of Medical Parasitology, NYU Medical School, and the Master’s Program in Global Public Health will be teaming up with a local bar for a “World Malaria Day Happy Hour” on Friday.
Festivities include a mosquito piñata, malaria movies and images and of course drink specials.
